A fungus among us… We found this unique appearing growth in our front garden just a few steps from our front door in Chula Vista, California. Some Google searching indicates that it is a type of fungus, probably in the mushroom category. We first saw it seven days ago. It has doubled in size in that time. The largest of the individual spheres is 7/8 inch (23mm) in diameter. The overall size of the entire growth is 9.5 inches (240mm) by 6 inches (160mm) by about 4 inches (100mm) tall.
