David Pearling…from my Facebook page: ‘Garden San Diego.' Interesting... I saw this redbud tree in full bloom in Coronado on Friday Feb. 7. That seemed very early. The homeowner gave me permission to photograph her tree. It is shown in the first photo. To be certain that there is not some kind of regional early bloom happening here I drove by a few other redbuds I know about in San Diego's North Park neighborhood about six miles away. They were all still completely dormant. One is shown here in the second photo dated April 4 one year ago. It is in full bloom, but two months later. Two full months! The third photo shows another redbud in Plainfield IL (far southwest suburban Chicago) in early May 2019. They bloom in that area usually a little earlier, in late April.
